Hello, I'm Ardjoen Mangre,
Industrial designer
and R&D Engineer

About Me

I am not afraid of a challenge

In 2015 I completed my master's degree in Industrial Design at the Eindhoven University of Technology, after which I started working. Now 32 years old and working as a Research & Development Engineer at in-lite design. In addition to my daily work, I obtained a degree in Embedded Systems Engineering in 2018 through an evening study.

When you combine manufacturing products with creative design, you get me an Industrial Designer, a creative professional with a unique skillset in both engineering and design. A company needs an Industrial Designer if they don't just want an everyday product but a sleek, appealing, and user friendly one. As this Industrial Designer I will make your product “cool” or “sexy” enough to make people want it, to make it stand out.

Expertises

Take the best that exists and make it better. When it does not exist, design it.

As an Industrial Designer and R&D Engineer I have been designing and developing new products from ideation till production. The skills and experience acquired over the years are covered in all phases of the product development process including research, ideation, conceptualitsation, design, production and often even some marketing aspects.

  • Product Design

A well-designed product stands out, making it more likely to be adopted by users. In order to do so I always research and brainstorm a wide range of creative solutions. From there I draw out the ideas gained from the insights from this research and the brainstorms. Product design encourages thinking outside the box and generating a multitude of ideas. In a crowded market, unique concepts or designs can differentiate a brand from its competitors, making its products stand out.

  • 3D CAD Modeling

I am experienced in creating 3D computer-aided design models through solid modeling software (Solidworks). This helps me in communicating product designs to engineers, manufacturing teams, and other stakeholders. Creating good 3D CAD models reduces costs as it helps eliminating the need for many physical prototypes. It also helps me improving quality making it possible to identify and fix design flaws early on in the design process.

  • Prototyping

In the past I have created many fully functional prototypes with a 3D printer and creating the .. with an arduino. I have the basic solder and programming skills. And I know my way with tools.

  • Photorealistic Rendering

Making advanced 3D product renderings, both stills and animations. 3D product rendering can look just as realistic as real photographs, that is what I aim for. Creating visuals that don’t just show but convince and sell an idea or product! A bad 3D rendering is bad, just as bad photography is bad, that is why I use Keyshot for making my renders. Using renders saves costs in product photography and expensive 360 views. Also small adjustments to a camera position or even an adjustment to the product is then easily done. Exploded views, functions of the product.

  • Visual Design

The visual appeal of products are not to be understated. Aesthetics play a crucial role in attracting users and significantly influence their perception of quality and reliability. Good design marries functionality with visual elegance, creating products that are not only efficient but also visually appealing. In my work I therefore try to find a balance in color, shape, and texture, creating visual harmony that is pleasing to the eye and aligns with the brand’s identity, creating a consistent and recognizable look.
