Product developer is probably the best term to describe me. As a product developer I combine product design and product engineering to create products that meet both market and production requirements.

A Product Designer is often associated with somebody who creates the visual/tactile aspects of a product. Although as a product designer I do more than that, I help the company to identify, investigate, and validate a ‘problem’ and from there designs a solution. A product designer creates products that meet the needs of its users through user research, user experience design, user interface design and prototypes. It’s all about problem solving and design thinking, which is part of the product design process.

My part as Product Engineer is focusing more on designing products and the manufacturing processes that come with it. A big part of this job is being responsible for the transition of the product from design to scaled manufacturing. This includes on-site activity at the manufacturing locations besides being at the office behind your desk working on designs.

But more about ME! My name is Ardjoen Mangre, I am Dutch product developer based in Raamsdonksveer, The Netherlands.

My interest in design, technology and engineering is often reflected in my work. Over the years I have developed a particular range of skills that form the unique toolbox for my profession, which vary from very ‘arty’ to very ‘techie’ developer skills. I just have a need to dream an be creative on one side, but there is also another side of me that needs to see the bigger picture and needs to see how this creativity can be translated into a functional and appreciated product that people love to use. I like to create meaningful products that lay a foundation between a brand and the user and not only with the product itself. It is not just about creating a product but also an experience and to develop these kind of products, finding the right balance between obstinacy & functionality, elegance & efficiency is essential.
